These are a must at the moment and there has never been a better time to buy one than in the January sales! No matter what style you are into I am confident that you will find one you really like! My boyfriend bought me one for Christmas and I have had loads of compliments off friends and family. They are useful to throw on over a jumper and a pair of leggings, if you do not want to put on a large jacket or coat. They are incredibly stylish and the celebrities have even been wearing them over their party dresses on the red carpet! Get yours quick!

Cheryl Cole Best Dressed in 2009

Wednesday, December 30, 2009 posted by Brooke 9:28 am

Pop star and X Factor judge Cheryl Cole has topped a poll of the world’s best dressed women which was conducted by Glamour magazine earlier this year. She narrowly beat supermodel Kate Moss who came in second.

The past 12 months have been great for Cheryl who has gained huge popularity since appearing as a judge on popular reality show ‘The X Factor’. Her style is often talked about and many women admit to being more than a bit envious of her style and good looks. Cheryl is always beautifully dressed and looks great even when just wearing jeans and a shirt to go out shopping. She is always well groomed and chooses her clothing carefully to maintain a glossy and glamorous image.

Cheryl’s huge rise to popularity has seen her knock ultra stylish Kate Moss from the top spot and has even knocked immaculately dressed posh spice down to third place, which we’re sure she’s pleased to hear. Other stars in the top ten include Alexa Chung, Blake Lively and Katy Perry making for a very eclectic top ten.

Zip it up!

Thursday, December 24, 2009 posted by Andy 9:23 am

That’s right, zips are once again in fashion. Fashion royalty from Victoria Beckham to Kate Moss and Paris Hilton are all big fans of the zip. Zips can instantly bring a tougher, rockier edge to even the most feminine of outfits. Anne Hathaway is one celebrity who manages to look feminine and sexy due to the addition of a zip to her outfit. At a recent photo shoot she looked elegant and sexy in a white layered skirt and black blouse which was made all the more edgy by the addition of a silver zip running the length of it.

Anne is not the only star to look utterly sensational in zip fashion. Ugly Betty star Becki Newton positively smouldered in a sexy black pencil skirt which had a zip up the entire length from waist to knee. Zips look particularly good when they are contrasted with soft and colourful feminine fabrics. Dresses which feature zips are very popular with celebrities at the moment and help to give a more rock chick look to a party dress. If you want a really hard edged look, then a silver zip on a black outfit makes an instant impact which can’t be ignored.

How to wear stripes

Saturday, December 12, 2009 posted by Brooke 9:11 am

One of the most timeless trends is undoubtedly stripes. In and out of fashion over the years stripes have always played a big part in winter wardrobes. Stripes are a great addition to any wardrobe and even a few key pieces can go a long way to updating your wardrobe and giving it a fresh new look. If you get the stripe look right, it will enhance your figure, give you a beautiful shape and a chic but laid back look.

Many of the top designers have been mixing and matching their stripes on the catwalk, mixing thick wide stripes with thin ones making for a chic Parisian look. The more adventurous designers have opted for the stark contrast created when mixing stripes with floral pieces, for a youthful and fun look. These looks are perfect for under 25s, but, for those of us over 25, it is probably a good idea to stick to one striped item teamed with a single block of colour, for instance, a black and white striped top with black jeans, would create a cool, casual look. If you want to appear taller vertical stripes are a must giving the impression of height and boyish figures would benefit from horizontal stripes which give the illusion of a fuller figure.

Stripes are a fun trend which can create many looks, whether it is a chic Parisian look you desire or a fun and whacky party outfit, stripes can do the trick. However you decide to wear them you will be bang on trend this winter.

Beth Ditto – fashion icon

Sunday, December 6, 2009 posted by Andy 9:10 am

In just a few short years Beth Ditto has managed to propel herself into the heady heights of stardom. Adored by millions, the punk rock singer has become an overnight icon for feminists, larger women, weight activists and even gay rights campaigners. She is never out of the public eye, often splashed in the tabloid press and she even did a nude photo shoot, baring herself to the world.

It now seems the fashion industry has too fallen in love with Beth. She has been seen hanging out with superstar model Kate Moss and Fendi designer Karl Lagerfeld in the past. She has also been seen sitting front row centre at several of the catwalk shows in Paris including shows by Stella McCartney and Chanel.

Beth also performed for Karl Lagerfeld this year at Fendi’s party in a very exclusive club in Paris where she shocked crowds by stripping off as she sang, much to the amusement of pal Kate Moss.

Beth has always had a very individual style which she never compromises. She can frequently be found squeezed into some brightly coloured spandex or a figure hugging sequin dress, or on many occasions in nothing but a bra and pants. Perhaps this is why we all love her. She embraces her body and style and is confident enough to not care what anyone thinks. She truly is a fashion icon in her own right.

Fur Coats

Fur jackets are this winters definite must have. Just Googling Faux Fur jackets there are 100s of results.

ASOS again is another good site. There is also the Kate Moss fur coat in the Topshop range. There are lots of sites dedicated to faux fur, but if you are in to vintage check this amazing long faux fur coat I found on Rokit! Long, quilted effect and camel coloured. If I have £80 spare I would snap up this vintage bargain!!

I think fur jackets can look great for day and night time. Pair a long coat with skinny jeans and knee high boots. For the evening wear a short, cropped sleeved jacket over your ‘little black dress’  paired with some leather gloves, instant glam!!

Office Christmas Party time!!!

Monday, November 16, 2009 posted by Brooke 4:01 pm

This year the party dress is all about looking different. I’ve just checked out the evening dresses on ASOS and they are all quite unusual. And prepare to get the pins out for this year’s office Christmas party, majority of them are short. I think ASOS is a great site for picking up both bargains and more high end lines but this year prices seem to have increased a bit!!! However if you are thinking about making a statement in your dress this year and don’t fancy turning up in the same thing as someone else my bets on ASOS. Slightly more unique looking than the majority of other shops this Christmas. This is my favourite.

Fake UGGs

Monday, November 9, 2009 posted by Andy 2:37 pm

Warning!!! Websites that are offering really cheap Ugg Boots are pretty dodgy.
I thought my luck was in when I found the UGG Australia website offering up to 70% off all styles. I have wanted a pair of Classical Tall Uggs for ages but just couldn’t justify the £170 that they are being sold at! So when I found a pair on the website for only £65 pounds I thought I had found a great deal. However on further investigation (I typed into to Google ‘why are these UGGs so cheap on this website….?)  I found out that these websites are often from countries like China and the product will either be a very good fake, a complete fallacy (i.e. the products do not exist), the products get seized at customs, or the company have problems processing your payment and you are charged twice sometimes three times! Please heed my advice, I know UGGs are appealing, but make sure you always have the officialt website. There are obviously deals to be had but make sure you are buying the real deal!! There should be a small R after the UGG before Australia, and you can use internet domain searching services to check where the domain is actually registered.
Good UGG hunting!

Winter accessories

Friday, October 30, 2009 posted by Kieran 3:42 pm

It is that time of year when you need to start to wrap up warm as the winter weather draws in. I am planning on going to a bonfire night next week, and I certainly will want to be wrapped up head to toe in my warm woolly clothes. I Love wearing matching hats, scarfs and gloves and at winter time there are loads of places you can pick them up  reasonable prices. Whether it is stripes, spots, checks or just plain colours there are plenty of eye catching designs to brighten up the dark winter days.  Why not have a look online, or at your local high street for what is on offer and brighten up your winter wardrobe. :-)

Skinny versus Flare

Tuesday, October 27, 2009 posted by Kieran 5:00 pm

Personally when skinny jeans first became popular I simply laughed and thought that any one larger than a size 8 would look ridiculus in a pair. I have always been a fan of flared jeans as worn with a pair of heels they really balance out my wide hips and make me look in proportion.
However, as skinny jeans have become more popular more of my friends started wearing them, and I hasten to add that not all of my friends are a size 8!
On asking my friends about skinny jeans, there were very differing opinions. Some of them would only dare wear them with heels, others only accompanied by long tops of Jumpers. Whichever way you wear them I would encourage you to give them a try, as they are very much in fashion and as my friends have proved can be worn by everyone!
