Fred Perry: revolutionising the man bag

Friday, February 12, 2010 posted by Brooke 5:24 pm

It seems that modern opinion is divided on the subject of the ‘man bag’. Although commonly associated with students, bags for working men are sometimes regarded with suspicion if they are not briefcases or in some cases, manly rucksacks. However, Fred Perry and a number of other top men’s brands are working very hard to change the image of the man bag; changing it from feminine or juvenile into the most fashionable and masculine accessory available.

All of Fred Perry’s bags are either satchels to be worn across the body, holdalls or barrel bags. The immaculate leather finish and designer branding make them a coveted fashion item, whilst the fuss-free design and large capacity enable them to be both functional and practical.

The impeccable, luxurious style of the latest Fred Perry satchels makes them perfect for use by any working professional, and no high-flying businessman would be without one.

Unlike women’s handbags, which are generally designed with style rather than functionality in mind, Fred Perry bags for men focus on practical use as well as appearance. They have a perfect number of compartments and zip pockets for carrying a wide range of items in an organised manner, making it easy and quick to find exactly what you need, when you need it.

Promotional codes mean you can now afford designer clothing

Thursday, February 11, 2010 posted by Kieran 10:35 am

For most people- myself included- owning designer clothing is a bit of a dream. You may have one or two key designer pieces that you’re extremely proud of but you would have most likely had to work for months to be able to afford them.

However, just by being a thrifty and bargain-hunting shopper, you too can afford designer clothes, bags and shoes. You’d be a fool to buy something so expensive without first checking if there was a way for you to get it cheaper, which is where promotional codes come in. Instead of traipsing round the high street looking for the latest sales, you can now find deals and sales offers online, and get access to exclusive discounts.

What’s more, there are loads of websites you can go on where all the promotional codes for a wide range of online stores and designer brands are gathered in one place. This makes it quick and easy to find the right discount code and you may even spot some other bargains whilst you’re there!

It’s not just designer clothing either; you can get designer jewellery, bags, fragrances, shoes, accessories and much, much more. You wouldn’t be able to afford these top-brand, high quality items normally, but you can now by using promotional codes.

Fashion trends for Spring/Summer 2010

Thursday, February 4, 2010 posted by Brooke 9:17 am

As it’s very nearly time to start dreaming about warmer weather, you also need to start thinking about your spring/summer wardrobe. This time of year is the very best for embracing new fashion trends, as the warmer weather means you can wear anything and the colourful, playful spirit of summer fashion is particularly inspiring.

Here are just a few top trends for spring/summer 2010:

• Underwear as outerwear – risqué but extremely alluring and uber-chic
• Denim – not just jeans but on the top half for the double denim effect
• Tribal – strong, empowering looks in military and futuristic tribal styles are very much in this year
• Patterned pants – break the fashion rules about only wearing block colours on the bottom half; floral and patterned printed trousers and leggings are a must-have for trendsetters everywhere.

Jeans!

Jeans are the most essential must have in a womans wardrobe as far as I am concerned simply due to their versatile nature. Jeans will never go out of fashion and are a definite long term investment.

I personally do not feel you have to spend a huge amount of money in order to get a decent pair, but I would agree that you get what you pay for, so make sure you make wise choices when purchasing your next pair!

I aim to buy jeans which are a little tight to start off with….. as it gives me motivation to slim in to them!

Isla Fisher – steal her style

Friday, December 18, 2009 posted by Kieran 9:18 am

Isla Fisher is hot property in Hollywood right now. Her last film, ‘Confessions of a Shopaholic’, did really well at the box offices. In the film, Isla plays a journalist living in shopper’s heaven, New York. Inevitably she develops a shopping addiction. She looks amazing in the film, wearing bright clothes complete with ruffles and cute heels. She was styled, in the movie, by the same woman who does the wardrobe for the Sex and the City girls and this definitely shows on screen.

Without a doubt anyone who sees this film will be envious of Isla’s on screen wardrobe which is, to put it simply, stunning!

To get this look, you need to think feminine. Pretty dresses in bold colours are a must and don’t be afraid to clash colours as this looks great when done correctly. Try wearing a cute pink ruffle dress with a bright yellow trench coat and yellow heels. Accessorise with cute jewellery, anchors and silver hearts work particularly well, and brightly coloured watches for a perfect New York fashionista look.

Ankle boots are back

Tuesday, December 8, 2009 posted by Brooke 4:40 pm

It seems celebrities can’t get enough of the ankle boot. Over the past couple of weeks dozens of celebrities have been out and about in the old footwear favourites. Ankle boots are viewed by celebs as edgy and they are flocking to wear them this winter.

Ankle boots look great with dresses whether it be a little black mini dress or a frilly flowing floral number, ankle boots look great and give an interesting edge over sandals, stilettos and court shoes. They are fun and funky and very versatile to wear. They look great with dresses, ankle length skinny jeans or even mini skirts. Black pointy ankle boots seem to be a celebrity favourite, but also popular are the toeless ankle boots which look particularly great with red polished toe nails for a sexy rock chick look. One thing’s for sure, ankle boots are here to stay so keep your eye out for promotional vouchers in order to get the best deal on ankle boots this season.

leather jackets

Sunday, October 18, 2009 posted by Kieran 3:47 pm

It was recently my birthday and I have to say the most exciting present I got was a new leather jacket. It is a short cropped jacket with some zip details and a collar. When I first put it on, I was amazed at how soft it was. I have been experimenting on what items of my wardrobe it will go with, and to be honest I have to say it goes with just about anything!  I have tried it with a T-shirt and skinny jeans, legging and a long jumper and a skirt and top. It is great for wearing at night time when I am going out as it is small enough to put on the back of my chair or hold. The weather is not quite cold enough for me to get my big winter coat out, so whilst autumn is still here this is the perfect alternative! I have seen such a variety on the high street, there are loads to choose from. Make sure you make this an item you have in your wardrobe.

Get your Jeggings now!

Friday, October 9, 2009 posted by Brooke 9:00 am

I have recently invested in some jeggings! I wasnt too sure at first when I started seeing girls and celebrities in magazines wearing them, however I have been surprised by the quality and variety I have found on the high street.

My first pair of jeggings are denim coloured and I felt fab when I put them on! They are alot more stuctured than ordinary leggings and are alot more comfortable than jeans.  I love the versatile nature of then, you can dress them up or down depending on your plans.

I have since invested in a leopard print pair which is a little more daring than I would usually be, but I feel like a girl only lives once! Now I have some, I am constantly seeing other girls wearing them -so they certainly appear to be hot at the momment! with the winter weather moving ib they are also very practical for keeping your legs warm :-)
